KASA trail report March 19th/20
Groomer went to Fredericton and back to home base last night to clean up some of the bumps and ruts on the #206 (which is our most heavy traveled trail). Logging road, devils punch bowl,Warburton rd, Margate all have had a pass over them. For the most part the fields are in great shape but the snow cover is going fast.

KASA Trial update March 6/20

Still a bit of water running this morning through the fields and hollows, we will check later today and see if the water has stopped enough send the groomer out, was told yesterday that the trail was is great shape as we groomed it and sealed it up before the rain, once the temps drop enough to freeze the rest of the running water up we will head out and start to clean things up and get it smoothed off where the snow drifted in.

Also the section of trial Rte 402 from the Hall Road to the Holmes rd has been closed the signs are going up this morning. They are going to start to clear and plow the road off to the excavation pit. PLEASE USE CAUTION in this area.

Update from KASA regarding a portion of the 402 Trail.

There will be an open shale/material haul from the excavation pit on a portion of RTE 402 on the KASA trail. The section affected will be from the Hall Rd to the Holmes Rd, this section will be closed for the the rest of the winter to allow for an active excavation of material from the Shale pit on the Princetown Rd. As this is a loop section of the 402, sledders will still be able to access the 402 Trail via the 206 Hall rd and up to the Spring Valley Cabin then continue to the 402 from the 304 Trail.

This section of trail will be posted in the next couple of days with Trail Closed signs and Caution tape. Please use caution in this area!!!

KASA Trail Update Feb 17/20

Sorry for not getting any posts on i have been away for a couple days!!

From what i have been told the trial has held up pretty well with all the riding the last 2 to 3 days!
We are going to wait for this snowfall tomorrow before we go back out and clean it all up. I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend of riding!!

I will post another update once i get a better time line on the snow and the forecast, temps are suppose to drop Wednesday and Thursday which will help with the grooming.

On a side note, if you are looking for a great place to stay in the Doak town area in New Brunswick give the gang at Wilson's Sporting Camps a call. Keith and the gang are awesome to deal with and the scenery is breath taking!!

Trail Update KASA Feb 14/20
Our groomer has been out most of this week trying to build more of a trail base and catch some of the drifting snow. We will continue to keep her going for the next 2 days with these cold temps to get it packed and sealed up. It will be heading out late morning today to try and knock down the drifted in spots. Our plan is to get over all our trails in the next 48 hours or so.

I will be away from the computer for the next couple of days and will try to get a post on when I can.

The groomer will be going at all hours so keep and eye out for it. Sled safe and get out and enjoy this great going!

Groomer left yesterday morning went through the 304 Margate to cell tower 208 and back to the 206 bypass, came back through to the 402 and down to 306 to Louies via French River and New London, he returned back though the 208 Margate. Operator returned to base for a couple hours and left again to double up the trail through the 402 to the 208 and down the McCourt rd to Gunns Bridge and back out to the 208, it is currently making its way to Rustico on the 308 and is supposed to pick off the 404 Stanley bridge as well, the groomer will then head to Fredericton to pass it off to Spring side. We will pick it back up tonight and continue to work our trails on the way back.

Huge thanks goes out to Louie's place for the BBQ burgers for our operators last night, it was greatly appreciated!! Team work makes the dream work!

Trail update for KASA Jan 30/20

sorry folks haven't been around to put a trail update on, work commitments eating all my time up so i can keep my lights turned on!!

Groomer will be on the move tonight, now that the water has frozen over and stopped running across a lot of our fields/hollows that we groom.

Plan is that he will do the bypass RTE 206, then clean up around spring valley which takes in RTE's 206,304,402. Then take RTE 208 to RTE 306 Granville and back up through RTE 402 French River, New London. We will see how things go tonight, if all goes well we will send her down to RTE 308 Rustico tomorrow at some point then onto RTE 208 Fredericton to meet up with Spring Side to help them get groomed up for the weekend traffic.

KASA trail update. Jan 23/20

We picked the groomer up in Fredricton this morning from the Springside guys, they had groomed all night with the KASA groomer and packing pan. I ran back to home base and removed the pan and put on the drag. Went out to fix up some bad spots on the 208 in margate. Run from spring valley out the 304 and on to the 208 went into Kensington by the cell tower and then back out and on to the logging road. Turned around and took same routes back to spring valley.
Tonight the groomer and drag will go to French river 402 and on to Granville then do 308 to Rustico, 404 in to Stanley and then out to Fredricton on 208. Groomer will return to spring valley in the morning on the 404.

I’d also like to apologize to the sledders for some delays on the kasa trails we had a couple of issues, and got them fixed right away.

Thanks for your patients. RussJ.

Update KASA Jan 22/20
Good Morning folks

Just a quick update regarding yesterday. We had a Mechanical issue yesterday morning and we needed to be towed back to the shop for some repairs. Just want to give a huge shout out to PEISA and the Central Groomer operators, as well as Spingside club for helping us out in our time of need. It was greatly appreciated. KASA club and some of its volunteers worked very hard till the wee hours of the morning to get the necessary parts replaced so we can try to get back on the trail system today. We will be taking the groomer out for a test run this morning at some point and if all goes well we will be underway again. We will post more information after we get the groomer out of the shop and moving.

That is all for now and again huge shout out to PEISA, Central Groomer Operators, Spingside Club, and all the volunteers for helping us out.

Quick Update for KASA trails Jan 15/20
The groomer went out today to knock down the drifts on the back roads in the Spring Valley are and to do the by pass with the packing pan on. The temps warmed up to the point that we stopped. The drag was hooked up tonight and the Groomer is making its way towards Granville and Fredericton area. Lets hope the temps drop quickly over night and let this set up for us.

Still nothing to update on Gunns bridge at this time, but we are working on a plan, we ask for some patience until we can get something worked out with the Government. Once we have something solid in place we will make and announcement.

Ride safe and enjoy this white gold!!!

Trail Update KASA Jan 9/20
Hope everyone is excited to see the snow!!!

We have been working on packing what snow is down to try and get it to drift in some more so we can continue to build a base. We will try and keep working the trail as best we can for the snow conditions that we have. The further east you go towards Granville it is better going thanks in part to the logging roads and more wooded areas.

The groomer has gone to Granville , Gunns Bridge, Fredericton, Stanley Bridge, French River, and is making its way back for some minor repairs and to be checked over as it was the first trip out. Once we have a look at it we will take it back over the Bypass towards rail bed and knock down the drifts on the back roads in the Baltic/Spring Valley area (which was also done last night to try and catch some more snow in the open areas) and make our way to the bypass again .

There is also a new section of trial from French River to New London and on to Granville. this is now open as well.

There was an issue today at Gunn's bridge (barricades having been put back in place) i have been told it is getting sorted out and the trail should be open ASAP.

A couple of things to take note on. The first one being a logging operation going on in back of Kensington on the Bypass going towards Hooters direction. Please keep an eye out for large piles of logs in the fields in that area.

Second thing to bring to your attention is that the trail has changed a bit from last year in the Margate area. There have been some land ownership changes and it forced us to move the trail around between Irishtown rd and Margate Road. Please follow the signs and stakes in this area and please ride on the groom trail only.

A bit of reading but we want you to be informed!

Sincerely Yours
