Grant Peters
President
Grant is one of our central representatives for the PEISA and our current President. Grant first got into snowmobiling racing 30 years ago which led him to his current position at Toy Master Motor Sports. If you have ever bought an Arctic Cat on PEI you know who Grant is. Grant spends his free time volunteering on the groomer and coaching his daughter’s ringette team. Grant loves to spend time on the trail with his daughter and wife. When Grant is not getting his adrenaline rush in on the snow, you can find him at the track with the Maritime Pro Stock tour.

Erland Hart
Vice President - Western
Erland has been a member of the PEI Snowmobile Association board and a western representative since 2015 and is our current vice president. Erland has helped the association over the years, expand many trails in the western part of PEI by speaking with land owners and dedicating his time to trail maintenance. Erland loves to spend time with his family and friends in the winter enjoying the island trails.

Dale Hickox
Trail Manager - Eastern
Dale Hickox got his introduction to snowmobiling when he was 10 years old with a ski-doo Nordic and he has been hooked ever since. Dale began his association with the PEISA in 2000 when he was the eastern coordinator of the groomer for a couple of years before joining as a board member in 2002. He has served in that role as eastern groomer chairman since 2000 and in 2007 became President of the Prince Edward Island Snowmobile Association. In 2009 he served as co-chair of the International Snowmobile Congress held in Summerside PEI where over 400 delegates came from all over the world. In 2014 Dale was elected President of the Canadian Council of Snowmobile Organizations and he served in this capacity till 2018. He is a proud farmer from Vernon River where he lives with his wife Shirley and raised his two adult daughters. Over his almost 15 years as President Dale has seen many changes with the PEISA including newer and better grooming equipment as well as the introduction of a fourth groomer for the association to supply a better product for our members. There has been consistent growth over the years including new highs in permit sales for the past two years. Dale retired from the PEISA board in 2021.

Tyler Buchanan
-Western
Tyler is out most recent board member, and has taken on a western representative roll. Tyler’s snowmobiling days began when he was about five years old with his dad. Tyler’s dad was also a long-time board member of the PEI Snowmobile Association. Tyler loves enjoying the fresh air and the sense of community that come with snowmobiling. Tyler spends time each year helping prepare the trails and keeping them groomed in the winter. Tyler and his wife love to spend time on the trails together when they are not working on the farm.

David Shaw
Central
David Shaw is one of our central representatives and has been snowmobiling most of his life. He loves to get outside and see all the beautiful trails PEI has to offer. David lives in West Covehead with his wife and two daughters and works at Allan Equipment Mfg. Every year David volunteers in the signing and management of route 212 and also volunteers his time grooming when the snow is here.

Troy Burke
Central
Troy is one the newest members of our board, joining in 2020 as a central representative. Troy has been a dedicated volunteer for many years helping keep the northside trail maintained. Troy lives with his wife and two girls in Charlottetown and works in sales at HD Supply. In the off-season Troy spends his time with the Maritime Pro Stock tour at the track.

Troy Burleigh
Western
Troy joined the PEISA in 2021 and is one of our western representatives and our current secretary treasurer. Troy and his wife love to travel the trails of PEI and see all of the sights. Troy has always been a supporter of the PEISA. In the off-season Troy works as a Shellfish Dealer in western PEI.

Scott Speelman
Eastern - Island 4 Coordinator
Scott has been representing the eastern end of the island with the PEI Snowmobile Association since 2018. Since joining the board Scott has taken a large role in maintaining groomers, and organizing grooming schedules. Scott works at his family business Grandview Welding. Scott spends his free time in the winder enjoying the trails with his new wife.

Larry Arsenault
-At-Large - Western Coordinator
Larry has been on the PEISA board since 2008, and has served as the Western Groomer chair for most of his time on the board. He is a very dedicated board member and when something needs to be done you can always count on Larry to make it happen.

Cody Powers
Eastern
Cody is one of our newest members to the board. Cody is one of our new eastern representatives and we are very excited to have him. Cody has spent a lot of time volunteering with the Eastern Grooming Committee. He has helped with trail maintenance, trail grooming and trail development. Cody and his girlfriend love to get outside and enjoy the trails together in the winter.

Andre Yorston
Eastern
Andre joined out board in 2021 as an eastern representative. Andre and his wife have spent many winters travelling the trails snowmobiling together in the winter. They love to get outside and see everything our trail system has to offer. In the summer months you can find Andre cruising the waters for lobster.

Alan DeLong
SSC Representative
Al is our longest standing board member he has been with us since 1988 as the SSC representative. Over the years Al has been part of many snowmobile rides, draws, dinners, and fundraisers. He has spent countless hours volunteering on trails, grooming and heling make snowmobiling the best that it can be on PEI. Al is also a director of the Springside Snowmobile Club. Al is retired from his job at Hillside Chevrolet and spends his days on the trails with his wife and two children who all enjoy snowmobiling together.

Allan Lowther
SSC Representative
Information About Board Of Directors
Directors are elected on an annual basis, at the annual meeting, for a term of three (3) years. This ensures continuity and allows new members to join. Youth members are elected at the annual meeting for a term of one (1) year. The year a member was elected as a director is indicated next to the name. Executive positions are elected annually at the first board meeting following the annual meeting.
Board of Directors meetings are held each month, and the meeting location rotates between Charlottetown (East) and Kensington (West). The Annual General Meeting is held in winter, at a location determined by the Board.
