It was another extremely busy day again on the Eastern Trail system. Between trucks and trailers from all over PEI and the many sledders who are able to access the trail system by snowmobile there was heavy traffic on all the trails. Speaking with some of our restaurant partners like Peake’s Tee, Ocean Acres Campground and Deck Restaurant, they indicated it was one of the busiest weekends ever and gas stations in Murray River, Mount Stewart, Dundas and Scotchfort also indicated they were busy as well. Two groomers left last night and we did a double pass on the #104 between Grandview and Mt. Stewart and made a double pass into Morrison’s Truck Parts in Mt. Albion on the # 105 (Lots of traffic from this area as it was used as a trailer unloading area). We also did a double pass on the # 217 from East Uigg to New Perth then another double pass on the #103 from the Bus Depot to Mt. Stewart. Starting tonight the groomers will begin grooming the entire trail system again with double passes. With traffic expected to be heavy again today I just want to let snowmobilers know that the following restaurants will be open for our members. The Deck Restaurant at Ocean Acres Campground in Murray Harbour, Holy Cow in Morell, and Red Claw Bistro in Souris is also open for business today on Islander Day 2024. If you are out and about please keep right and ride safe.
