Located in the Souris area this groomer left Harmony Junction on Tuesday morning heading East on the #100 towards Mt. Stewart, passing through St. Peters and Morell. Groomer was mostly panning so it didn’t take any of the light fluffy snow off the trail. This trail was done twice, up and back to the Ashton turnoff (Trail # 221) where it continued throughout most of the night before getting into some trouble on a very icy hill near Cardigan. Unfortunately, we were forced to leave the groomer there for a few hours till morning when we were able to get some assistance from Cardigan Excavators and their excavator to get up the hill (Thank you owner Michael Rice). Once the groomer got going again early this morning if finished it’s run to Cardigan, and also did Trail # 311 through Lorne Valley. Groomer proceeded back towards Dundas on the #221 before turning off at the Dundas Irving and grooming the new trail into Fortune and then heading back the same way. Welcome to a couple of new partners in the Fortune area, the Fortune Bridge Diner (restaurant) and Fortune Travel Stop (Gas station). Groomer is now heading East on the #100 to Elmira and will also be doing the #225 from Elmira and going into Souris on the #106. Trails up East and turning out very good. Like everywhere on PEI we can still use some more snow on some the cross-country trails. More updates later
