GROOMER REPORTS
Central Groomer
We have now been bombarded with snow. From going to clear trails of trees 3 weeks ago to panning what little snow we had 2 weeks ago to what we have now. Central will be going to bust the banks tonight solo and will continue to do so. Plan is to do Charlottetown to Hunter River this evening. We know where the bad areas are so it will take time to get this job done. If there are sleds stuck or abandoned please send a email to admin@peisa.ca to let us know. Will update later as we progress. Stay right and watch for the groomers

Eastern # 1 and Island # 4 February 18 Update
What a Saturday it was on the eastern trail system. Trailer load after trailer load of sleds heading east with hundreds of sleds enjoying the close to 350 kms of trail. By evening some of the most heavily traveled areas were showing the effects of the heavy traffic and were getting beat up bad. Plan was to have 3 groomers go last night and do some of the busier loops but unfortunately one of the machines decided because it had a hole in a fuel filter it was not going anywhere so we adjusted our schedule and the two groomers ended up doing the necessary trails but in some cases only had one pass instead of the planned two passes. The # 4 left from Grandview Welding and headed for Murray Harbour on the # 104 and after making it to Ocean Acres it turned and headed back on the # 305 through the County Line Road and Greenfield. The operator then returned for fuel and took the #104 to Pisquid River through Lake Verde and as I write this he is returning back to Grandview. The # 1 Groomer also left through the night and did the # 217 through Greenfield and on to New Perth, then west on the # 103 to Mt. Stewart and then returning back to Grandview on the same route. Unfortunately we can not get over the entire trail system in one evening to give it all a refresh, but at least some of the main trails have been given a fresh pass. The groomers will not be running today because of the anticipated traffic but plan is to run tonight.
The groomer has been going steady since early Thursday morning, after a not so pleasant Wednesday night. Groomer ran into some trouble on Trail # 104 near Iona. There were several hundred feet of 12 to 15 foot drifts and banks of snow through this area, and it made it very difficult to actually follow the trail which could not be seen. Groomer got stuck around 3.00 am after going off the trail. Next morning with the assistance of Thomas Carver Trucking, we were released and continued on down to Murray Harbour breaking down the many banks. Returned back to Grandview in the afternoon and hooked on to the drag and headed West on the #104 into Mt. Stewart. Turning in Mt. Stewart the groomer then headed back towards New Perth on the #103 through Peake's Tee. After turning at the Bus Depot the groomer returned back to Pisquid River also on the #103 before going back down through Lake Verde and into Mt. Herbert on the #105. The Groomer then returned back to Grandview for fuel before continuing towards Murray Harbour on the #104. Plan today is to finish into Murray Harbour and then start on the Cross Country Trail #305 down to Murray River
