GROOMER REPORTS

Central Trail

Central Groomer Left Winsloe Friday evening around 9 as we were waiting for temps to fall a bit more from the day.  Groomer proceeded towards Summerside (RTE100) panning the trail and cutting the drifts as he came upon them.  Lots of snow in areas and very little in other spots.  We were able to get to the highway by Green Diamond but low snow conditions were turned back towards Charlottetown. As the temps dropped more through out the night we were able to try to process the snow on the trail and widen it on the way back.  With the temps and sunshine today the groomer will sit through out the day and will access later.  Hopefully some more snow sunday and first of week so we can continue to keep the equipment moving.  Sled safe and stay to the right.

Eastern # 1 and Island # 4 February 17th Update

It has been a busy couple of days with three groomers going in the east, trying to get everything opened after the wind and snow from Thursday. All trails in the east have been given a minimum of two passes with some sections like the #103 from Mt. Stewart to New Perth have had three as has the # 104 from Mt. Stewart to Grandview. Trails are not perfect and have not had much time to set up with the amount of traffic seen yesterday on the eastern trails. I was told at 8.00 am this morning there had been 7 trailers with sleds heading east in a fifteen minute span from Mt. Albion to Charlottetown so today is also going to be a busy day. Please keep to the right and ride safe. For those who love to cross a road and hit the throttle sending snow back on to the road we sure wish you wouldn't do it because transportation will soon be asking us to go clean it up. There will be no groomers on the trail today but the plan is to send them out tonight after it slows down

Island 4 Trail

Groomer left this morning (Thursday Feb19th) with the box drag. We were not sure what the conditions were going to be like with all of the wind and drifting we had received. Traveled on the #104 through Lake Verde all the way to Mt. Stewart. We then joined forces with the Eastern groomer which had the drag on, and continued into ToyMaster for fuel. Both units turned around and headed back to Mt. Stewart and then heading towards New Perth, where they will take the #217 through Greenfield before heading down the #104 to Murray Harbour throughout the night. This is a slow process with the drifts but we will continue to work hard for you to get the trails open as quickly as possible. We will also continue to run throughout the day tomorrow and tomorrow night to get as many passes as possible on the entire trail system

KASA Trail

Today the groomer made the second pass to Spring Valley, covered all the loops and returned to Granville. Then made a second pass to the cell tower and Margate. Trail is looking good plenty of snow and few bare spots. 306,304,206 and 208 all two passes done in last 24 hours. Another trip to Rustico and Fredericton will be made after midnight tonight once traffic settles down. Everything shaping up for a good weekend of sledding!

Springside Trail

Left last night (Feb 5) from home base (Appin Rd, 301) towards Crapaud, Albany & Kinkora (209) back to home base (209, 301) Due to limited snow on the rail bed entering Borden, the groomer was unable to complete this section. Trails are in decent shape & set up really well. Be safe, have fun, ride smart & watch for flashing lights!

Western Trail

Along with the West Point Loop,  the trail to Mill River resort is also groomed.  The trails are all in good condition.   The groomer is headed East to Miscouche this morning.
