GROOMER REPORTS
Central Trail
Central Groomer has been on the go for the last few days. Recently we started thursday evening and headed east on route 100 toward Mt Stewart. When returning we did the finger into Charlottetown towards Coach's Reastaurant. Be sure to check them out at the end of the trail. Follow the tracks right to there door. Early friday morning we left on 100 west to miscouche in hopes to pull some snow in from the sides with the drag. Again with marginal cover in areas we can only do so much. At the time of this the groomer is almost in Hunter River and coming back to Winsloe. Seen lots of traffic in the central area and reports of Conservation in the area. Be sure to have your permit and registration up to date to avoid delays and fines. Plan is to do another driver change and top up fluids and head back over the North Side Loop (212) overnight. Be careful at night as with the light snowfall today it is dusty. Hopefully we get the wet snow forecasted on Monday and we can start again first of week. Trail feed back again is saying alot of use in the center on the railbed. Please stay to the right. It only aids in the longevity of the trail. Be alot of use this weekend. Sled safe. Stay Right. Watch out for groomers and thank them when you see them. Side note in Kensington. Be sure to leave enough room at the train station for traffic and groomers to get thru. Pull off before the area before Island Stone Pub. Have a great weekend
Eastern Grooming
The Groomer left on Tuesday morning with the drag and did trail #305 from Greenfield down to the Munns Road with a double pass and then did the #425 from MacRae Road down to the intersection of the #305 and #425. Trail is coming out in decent shape according to the operator. Groomer returned through the night to Grandview where it will leave this morning and open up the #313 from Lyndale to Vernon River. It will then do trail #217 from Vernon down to Uigg. Plan is to keep groomer running as we work to get all trails open
Eastern 1 Trail
The groomer has been going almost every night since last Sunday. Trail #100 from Harmony Junction to Ashton has had 4 trips (8 passes) this week with the #100 between Ashton (intersection of trail #221) and Mt. Stewart having two full trips (4 passes) and the #221 from Ashton to Cardigan including the # 311 through Lorne Valley also having 2 full trips since the first of the week. Trail # 315 from Dundas to Fortune has also had two complete passes this week including Thursday night and is in great shape as well. Trail # 106 into Souris has been done as well as the #225 from Elmira back to Souris. All trails in this area of the Province are in great shape and with the scheduled poker run in this area today they will be busy so get out and enjoy
Island #4 Trail
Groomer is still running and we are doing ok at this point. After spending the majority of the day busting down banks with the groomer and box drag on Tuesday we finally hooked onto the drag on Tuesday night and started leveling the trail. We did the #104 down to the Munn's Road (Intersection of #305 and #104) then returned back to Grandview for fuel. Headed out across the #217 through Greenfield making one pass before getting on to the #103 in New Perth and going into Mt. Stewart and then returning and now heading into Georgetown on the #103 and then we will be doing the #222 into Montague before returning back through New Perth on the #217. Plan is to fuel up again and then return on the #104 through Lake Verde up to Pisquid before returning and doing the #105 into Mt. Herbert. Hopefully all goes well during the day today and if so we will do everything again with a double pass during the cold of the night on Wednesday. Looks like Thursday may be to mild but we will be back at it again when the cold returns. Please be patient as we are doing the best we can to get everything back into great shape.
KASA Trail
February 7 The groomer did the 406 and 402 yesterday through new London and French River to Springvalley. This morning did a quick run around Granville on the 306 and 208 as far as maclean road in preparation for Louie’s wing day! Get out and enjoy what little snow there is.
Springside Trail
Left this morning (Mar 5) from home base (Appin Rd, 301) towards Clows Red & white East/West (309) Lanks (213) Cornwall East/West (315) North River (317) New Haven East/West (303)
Western Trail
The groomer is heading East to Miscouche and doing the West end of the Grand River Trail and grooming the new Trail to Dennis Motors. When it gets back it's heading West to Tignish and doing the Piusville Loop and if he has enough fuel he will groom to Mill River resort. So if you are out and about watch for the flashing lights.
