GROOMER REPORTS
Central Trail
Central Groomer has been running non stop since Sunday night. We were able to get a pass up to Miscouche with the drag on and did the Grand River Trail. Again the trails are narrow and will take a few passes to get levelled out. Being told of a bad area around Freetown area from Blue Shank Road to Macdonald Road so slow down. Got to Borden done today and returned back towards Charlottetown . Got to do a weld repair on the drag at this time (tuesday evening) and driver is waiting to go once we have the weld done. It will be heading back towards Summerside again thru the night so be careful. Will get a start on North Side trail tomorrow late in the morning. Sled safe, Slow down and stay right

Groomer update
Well we have been waiting a for a long time for a snow like this in the east. Not sure exactly what we received but some reports are saying between 60-80 cm. Unfortunately we had to have the wind with it. I don't have to tell anyone that there are large drifts in some cases over 10 feet high. The plan is to send two groomers together to open the trails with the box drags. This is going to be a slow process as it will even take 15-20 minutes at each road crossing to push the snow back far enough to give our members good visibility when crossing roads. The warm weather for the next few days is not going to help setting up trails but there is a lot of trail busting to do first anyway. It is going to be slow work but we have several operators lined up to keep the groomers running around the clock. I will update after they get going tomorrow once their roads are opened and they can get to the groomers
Eastern # 1 and Island # 4 February 16th Update
Both of these groomers left last night at 8.00 pm after the wind and drifting settled down somewhat. One machine went South on the # 104 to Murray Harbour and returned the same way. It then went in and did a double pass on the #305 A before returning to Grandview Welding for fuel therefore a complete double pass was done on the #104. After fueling, it headed north on the #104 towards Vernon River and took the #217 towards Greenfield before hooking on to the 305 heading back to Murray River on the cross country trail. As I write this report the operator has made the turn and is heading back towards Greenfield on the #305, after which it will head to New Perth on the #217 through Greenfield and then once on the #103 will head to Georgetown and Montague. The second groomer headed towards Greenfield on the #217 and then straight through to New Perth before turning on the #221 heading for Ashton and Souris. The trail is completed with one pass now up to Elmira and it took the new trail from Elmira into Souris (Please note that this trail is not on the interactive map yet but it is well marked if you wish to take this section of trail) and will be returning back to Elmira the same way to ensure everything has a double pass. The # 4 groomer will then be heading back to Ashton on the #100 before taking the #221 back to Cardigan We have the use of a third groomer for a few days and it left this morning from Grandview Welding heading towards Mt. Stewart on the # 104. After getting to Mt. Stewart it will do trail #103 into New Perth with a double cut and then return and do the #105 into Mt. Herbert Please be patient as we work through the trail system. It was in great shape prior to the latest snow and drifting but it will only help in the future having the extra snow. Some sections of the trail will seem loose because of the new powder and it will take a few passes of the drag to help firm it up. With the expected traffic this long weekend on the eastern trail system it will be difficult to make it perfect but we will continue to run as long as possible

Springside Trail
Cuddy left home base last night around 10:30 PM to the Appin road , the 301 over to the 100 , then over to Clow's Red and White on the 309 and the 213 , went to the intersection of the 213 and 100 and turned. Please use caution in this area behind Lank's farm as there is very large drifts. Then took the 301 over to the 317 in North River to the Dutch inn. Turned and went back over and into the 315 to Cornwall. Then back onto the 301 over to the 303 and then did the 409 New Haven loop before returning to home base on the 301. All of the Springside trail system has been gone over with the compactor , this would not of been possible without the help of volunteers to remove the large tree on the Ross rd. route 211. Tonight once the temperatures drop we will hook up the drag and head out on the 209 over to Albany to intersect the 101. Please ride right and watch for the flashing lights!
Western Trail
The groomer is on it's way to Tignish and to do the Piusville Loop, it has already gone to St Eleanor's and between Richmond and Wellington at the Hackmatack road, use caution it is filling in as fast as we groom it .
