GROOMER REPORTS

Central Trail

Central Groomer made a second pass last night towards Summerside to start to smooth and widen the trails. When it returned this morning we did a driver change and begun to go bust out the North Side Trail(route 212).  Temps are becoming milder today and tonight some not expecting it to set up but will be a bit smoother where the groomer has passed.  SSA  are goin to grab our groomer this evening and do some of there trail system. Not sure how much they will get done but something is better than nothing.  Plan is go tomorrow thru the day and bust out the Warburton Road(route 208) with the rain and mild weather.  Try to pack it and pan it as with the mild temps we wont be able to process it.  Seen lots of traffic today everywhere.  Notice a lot of piles at the road crossings from sleds.  Wait a bit further before accelerating hard. Another system in the works so we may be back to square one again but will have to wait and see.  Sled safe and stay right.

Grooming Update

As I mentioned in my last post, we sent the two groomers together yesterday afternoon heading for Toymaster Motor Sports. It is extremely slow going as the two machines are very busy breaking down drifts and opening up road crossings. The machines made into town on Route #100 and headed back to Mt. Stewart and hooking on to the #104 heading towards Georgetown. At 7.00 am this morning both machines are in the St. Theresa area and we are doing a shift change. I can not emphasize enough how slow going this job is and we still have no drags on. The good thing is that we have operators lined up and plan to keep going around the clock to get the trails open

Eastern # 1 and Island # 4 February 17 Update

It has been a busy couple of days with three groomers going in the east, trying to get everything opened after the wind and snow from Thursday. All trails in the east have been given a minimum of two passes with some sections like the #103 from Mt. Stewart to New Perth have had three as has the # 104 from Mt. Stewart to Grandview. Trails are not perfect and have not had much time to set up with the amount of traffic seen yesterday on the eastern trails. I was told at 8.00 am this morning there had been 7 trailers with sleds heading east in a fifteen minute span from Mt. Albion to Charlottetown so today is also going to be a busy day. Please keep to the right and ride safe. For those who love to cross a road and hit the throttle sending snow back on to the road we sure wish you wouldn't do it because transportation will soon be asking us to go clean it up. There will be no groomers on the trail today but the plan is to send them out tonight after it slows down

He then came back and completed the second pass back to home base. Trails are in great condition and setting up beautiful. As always , please stay on the trail, ride right and watch for the flashing lights.
