GROOMER REPORTS
Central Trail
Groomer left early last night and went to emerald and continued on to Borden. Operator was able to do more of a cut with the drag in the bad areas with the temps a little milder. as the temps dropped thru the night it was setting up the trail really well. Groomer than left Winsloe mid morning and made another pass on the North Side Loop (route 212). Operator spent a little time doing more of a cut in the rough fields and widening the trails where he could. He went to the Colville road end and doubled back to Union Road. Groomer will be leaving early morning to head west to Summerside and Miscouche and back to town before the mild weather on friday. Hope the system continues as predicted as may get some wet snow that wont all blow into the woods. Sled safe and stay right. Watch out for big green groomers with flashing lights. They can be on the go at all times so be careful

Island # 4 Update February 10
As we approach 96 consecutive hours of grooming, busting banks and drifts, opening road crossings and moving snow, I am pleased to announce that we are only a couple hours away from having the entire close to 360 kms of the Eastern Trail system open and passable. This has been the toughest test ever of man and steel trying to get trails open. The machines are working on the final leg of the system opening the #305A as I write this report. Yesterday we completed the #105 into Mt. Mellick as well as the #217 from Vernon River to New Perth. After a quick trip on the #103 to Cardigan for fuel the operators began the opening of trail #305 towards Murray Harbour. After making to Ocean Acres they turned around and headed back the same Route trying to widen and smooth the best they could, filling with fuel at Grandview before heading south on Route # 104 towards Murray River. May I remind everyone now that the trails are finally open after 5 days of operating with the box drags that none of the trails have had a pass yet with the drag. The box drags we have been using do a great job of making a trail usable but is definitely not a finished product. Once we get back to home base we will be installing the drags, doing a quick maintenance and making a decision on whether the temperature is suitable for running the drags. With the temperatures going above 0 degrees for the day and a half we may be forced to wait till it gets colder to start again. I assure members that when we do start the groomers and drags will be going steady again to make the trails the best they can possibly be. At this time I want to thank all 7 of the operators who worked tirelessly around the clock to achieve our goal. I am sure they may never want to see miles and miles of nothing but snow drifts and banks 5 feet to 20 feet high again. Just a reminder to those on the trails today and tomorrow it has been up to 4 days on some sections of the trail since the groomer opened some sections up and they may be getting a little rough, but those are the sections we will be heading too first once we start with the drag. Please everyone adjust your speeds for the conditions

Springside Trail
Groomer left home base last night at 11:30 , did the 301 over to 213 behind the Lank's farm and over to Clow's red & white , then to the 100 and turned and went to Cornwall on the 315 and then North River on the 317 then over and did the 303 out through New Haven East and then New Haven west then back to the 301 and returned to home base. The trails were setting up very hard and very fast. The plan tomorrow morning is to go and fix up the damage the cement truck did on the 211 near the Ski park then carry onto Fredericton to meet the 100. We will likely park it after that and see how we fair out with the fresh snowfall forecasted for Thursday. Cuddy is reporting that everyone is doing a great job staying on the trails and please continue to do so. Ride right and watch for the flashing lights !
The Western Groomer has been busy all week, and on Friday night Feb 7th it did the Trail # 100 from Coleman to Tignish as well as the Piusville Trail (#203) after the temperature went down after a mild day Friday. After returning from the West it switched drivers and headed East on the #100 towards Summerside early morning Saturday. Conditions have improved down their with the snow we received throughout the week. After returning to Coleman for fuel it left Saturday evening to do the West Point Loop (#201) and the Rodd Trail (#202). It will do this throughout the night. We now have official word that the ice is thick enough to do the Grand River Trail (#204) so the plan is to do it as soon as possible
