GROOMER REPORTS

Central Trail

With mother nature finally agreeing with some weather we were able to send central groomer to summerside last evening.  We will only be doing the main line for now until we get some colder weather as the cross country trails are soft and no frost in them yet so sled carefully, there are wet spots in the low lying parts .  Groomer returned from rieds corner this morning and re-fueled and we decided to send it to Mt Stewart to take some of the drifting out of the trail that way.  There is more snow the farther west but its marginal in areas so sled with care.  The Main Trail is going to have a different view for most after the hurricane this fall.  Stay to the main trail and only go off the trail where there is enough area to pull off.  Stumps, Logs, branches and more are off the sides\ditches and can be buried so keep this in mind.  We will access what the weather will  bring on thursday and hopefully keep some of this for a base.  With the little frost this year we need colder weather.  Hopefully we see more snow shortly to keep everyone going.  We have a great product when we have the snow.  Sled safe and stay to the right.

February 13 Update on Eastern Unit # 1

Hard to believe how much snow disappears!!! One week ago it looked like we would be in great shape with between 65-85 cm in the east but this past weekend took a lot of snow away. Hopefully more soon. We started blast night after it finally got cold enough to go. The #1 Unit left home base in Grandview heading west on the #104 through Uigg and turned on to the #217 heading for Greenfield and New Perth. Since this was the first time with the drag since the major snow the operators spent a lot of time levelling the rolling sections of the trail. In some cases they made two or three passes on the high traffic sections making the trail as flat as possible. Once the groomer got to New Perth intersection it turned left heading for Mt. Stewart on the #103, returning from there it headed towards Georgetown. After completing into Georgetown we will be heading towards Ashton on the # 221. With between 15-20 cm forecast for the east tonight and tomorrow we will be making a decision on whether we will be running through the night. With the good temperature forecast for the next few weeks (staying cold) we should be able to keep the snow hopefully

Island # 4 February 26 Update

Groomer left Grandview heading for Ashton on the # 217 and # 221. There are a couple fields in Greenfield that were not able to be groomed due to some water laying in the fields, does not effect snowmobiles but groomer is heavier and we didn't want any issues. Groomer continued on the way to Ashton also avoiding a small section of trail near Dundas that also had water issues. Majority of the trail came out really good. When we arrived in Ashton after fueling in St. Peter's went into Souris and Elmira before returning back to Ashton and heading back down the #221 towards Grandview. As I write this report the groomer has another 3 or 4 hours to get back to home base. Hopefully this is not the end of our grooming season but the expected mild weather is not going to help our cause. Third groomer left Grandview last night and headed through Lake Verde on the # 104 to Mt. Stewart where it then groomed into Toymaster Motor Sports before returning and did the # 103 from Mount. Stewart to New Perth before returning back down the #104 to Lake Verde and then into Mt. Herbert on the # 105 and then returning to Grandview to see what the weather will bring us

KASA Trail

Last night the groomer went through new London to Louis’s, Fredericton, stanley bridge , and to rustico it returned through margate and back to the valley. Tonight the groomer will do to loop in the valley and the bypass to grain elevators and margate to cell tower and back.

Springside Trail

Wow , I cannot believe I am writing this, but I am happy to report on Springside grooming (is this the earliest ever ?) As of Saturday Dec. 6th Cuddy left home base panning and did the 301 over to Clow's 309 east ,and then took Clow's 213 west over to the intersection at the 100 behind Lank's farm. Turned and went back on the 301 as far as the bypass. The 315 into Cornwall and the 317 into North River were not done. He then proceeded to return on the 301 to the intersection of the 409 and completed the 409 loop in New Haven. Today the plan is to pan from home base onto the 209 through Crapaud to the 101 and then into Kinkora. Depending on how it goes he may get to Fredericton on the 211. This is EARLY riding and the groomers are out to establish that all important base , so lets try and not tear them up. Enjoy this earliest season riding in a LONG time. Ride Right , with your trail passes on and watch for the flashing lights!
